Meanwhile, it’s more ridiculous when all the competitions are included; it makes it 16 straight seasons that he’s scored at least 10 goals.

Even Lionel Messi has found it extremely difficult to rival this feat.

However, It was Messi who beat the record number of goals scored in a year. The Argentine playmaker netted a whooping 91 goals between January 1st to December 31st of 2021; smashing Gerd Muller’s record of 85 goals in the 1972-73 season. Muller scored 67 goals with Bayern Munich and 18 with West Germany that year.

Messi scored 79 goals with Barcelona and 12 with Argentina – This performance from Ronaldo and Messi was a surreal one.
