Chelsea football club is one of the most successful teams in England. Their success was achieved in the tenure of some managers which we are going to discuss below. 1. Gianluca Vialli (1998 – 2000) –

Gianluca Vialli was the first Italian manager to manage in the English Premier League. He won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in his debut season becoming the youngest manager to win a UEFA Competition at 33 years. The Italian is one of Chelsea’s successful managers. He won one FA Cup title, one league cup, one Charity shield, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and one UEFA Super Cup in his three years spell as Chelsea’s boss.

2. Jose Mourinho (2004 – 2007, 2013 – 2015) –

Jose Mourinho is the overall most successful Chelsea manager. He is one of the most decorated managers of all time. Mourinho is the current head coach of Premier League Club Tottenham Hotspur. The Portuguese coach won three English Premier League titles, three League Cups, one FA Cup and one FA Community Shield during his two spells as Chelsea’s manager.

3. Guus Hiddink (2009, 2015 – 2016) –

Guus Hiddink was appointed as Chelsea’s interim manager twice in 2009 and 2015. His first spell has interim manager was were he stabilize the club and won a trophy. He won his last game as interim coach of Chelsea which was the FA Cup final truimph over Everton. The FA Cup title was the only title Hiddink won for Chelsea during his two spells.

4. Carlo Ancelotti (2009 – 2011) –

Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most successful managers of all time. He is among the three managers who have won the UEFA Champions League on three occasions. Ancelotti was the third Italian manager to coach Chelsea. He was the first Italian coach to win the English Premier League title in 2010. The Italian boss won one English Premier League title, one FA Cup title and one FA Community Shield.

5. Roberto Di Matteo (2012) –

Roberto Di Matteo is a former player and also a former manager of Chelsea football club. He was first appointed as a caretaker coach but due to his excellence run, he awarded a contract but was later sacked. Di Matteo won Chelsea’s first-ever UEFA Champions League title in 2012. The Italian coach won the FA Cup as his second trophy.

6. Rafael Benitez (2012 – 2013) –

After Di Matteo was sacked, Rafael Benitez was appointed as manager till the end of the 2012/13 campaign. After he won the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea, he became the second manager to have won the trophy with two different teams. Benitez is currently the head coach of Chinese club Dalian Professional.

7. Antonio Conte (2016 – 2018) –

In his second season as Chelsea’s boss, he won the Premier League Manager Of The Month Award three consecutive times. He is the first manager to do it in history. Conte won the English Premier League and FA Cup titles before sacked for missing out on Champions League football.

8. Maurizio Sarri (2018 – 2019) –

Maurizio Sarri is the last Chelsea manager to win any trophy. He was the first manager to remain unbeaten in his first twelve premier league games. Sarri won his first major trophy as a manager when he defeated Arsenal in the final of the UEFA Europa League in 2019.
