Enyimba Confirmed that the Nigerian International Dayo Ojo was kidnapped by Gunmen

The player was kidnapped by gunmen while returning home from team camp after the club suspended all matches and activities due to Covid-19.

Football players Dayo Ojo and Benjamin Iluyomade have been kidnapped by gunmen, according to a press statement from Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, Enyimba.

The incident took place on Sunday along the Benin-Owo expressway as the trio of Ojo, Iluyomade and Emmanuel James journeyed to Akure following the suspension of the Nigerian elite division to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

While James escaped the attack, the duo of Ojo and Iluyomade who play for Abia Warriors were taken away.

“Enyimba Football Club can announce that midfielder Ekundayo Ojo has been abducted by gunmen along the Benin-Owo expressway,” the statement read.
