FIFA Womens World Cup: Asisat Oshoala Shines as Super Falcons Stunned South Korea

Nigeria Super Falcons against all odds and beyond expectations stunned South Korea Female team 2-0 to clinch the crucial point needed to keep their hopes high.

Super Falcons and South Korean went to the game with the hope of clinching the crucial three points needed, the South Korean team are the favourites for this match as they are better off in pace.

Dennerby girls go into the first half of the match with a lot of pressure coming from the South Korean attackers.

The south Koreans did an own goal to give Nigeria the lead in the first half.

The goal boost the confidence of Super Falcons and they brilliantly held the Koreans team till the end of the first half.

Nigeria are the first team to both score and concede an own goal at the same Women’s World Cup since USA in 1999.

Both own goals at this World Cup have come in games featuring Nigeria. Kim Do-yeon in their favour in this match and by Osinachi Ohale against them in the opening defeat v Norway.

The Nigerian player overlapped and crossed the ball to Oshoala who ran with amazing speed past a Korean challenger, rounded the goalkeeper and scored a nice goal.

Asisat Oshoala was voted the Player of the Match.

Nigeria will now face France in their next game, hoping to secure three points and move to the next match.
