Lampard Could Be Sacked If

Chelsea could make the decision to axe Frank Lampard from his job should the Blues lose their match tonight against Leicester City.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side will travel to the King Power Stadium to face The Foxes who have things going in their favour right now.

Saturday’s win at Southampton saw Leicester end the week only two points off top spot, while the going gets tough Chelsea and Lampard even after the win at Craven Cottage.

The Blues are down on the seventh spot after 18 matches, and before the victory over fellow Londoners (Fulham) last Saturday, they had won just one of their six Premier League matches.

Lampard Could Be Sacked If

Despite that the performance against Fulham was an eye-catching one, it doesn’t rule out the fact that Leicester would be looking to capitalize to on Chelsea’s poor form later tonight.

The question however is if the Chelsea legend could be sacked as early as today? According to a Journalist (Simon Johnson) who covers Chelsea for The Athletic, the answer is “Yes” .

“There already are (questions marks over his future),” Johnson told TalkSports Andy Goldstein.

When asked if Brendan Rodgers could replace Lampard at the Bridge, Johnson replied “He’s definitely valued as a coach, who couldn’t value him as a coach because of what he’s done at Liverpool and Celtic”

“And he made an impression when he was in charge of the Chelsea youth team and reserve team”

“But there are a lot of things Brendan has said and done over the years which did not go down too well with the club’s hierarchy”

“I think if Chelsea are to appoint another manager, they might be looking somewhere else, but he would definitely be lower on the list”

Desiring an clear-cut answer on Lampard’s future at Chelsea, Goldstein was straightforward with his next question: “If Leicester bear Chelsea, could he Sacked tonight?

“Yes” was Johnson’s response.

The pressure has mounted on the Blues boss in the last few weeks following the club’s dreadful run, and he’s become one of the favorites to be sacked in the Premier League sack race.
