Manchester United Players Of The Season Award Winner From 2010 till date.

The Manchester United Player of the season is called Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year. It is named in honour of their late former manager Sir Matt Busby. He is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time. Late Sir Matt Busby is the first English manager to win the European Cup. The Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year is awarded to Manchester United fans’ player of the season after an accumulation of votes. Voting takes place towards the ending of the season. The Award is a small statue of Late Sir Matt Busby.
The Manchester United Player of the Season award has been won by different players since its inception. The list of winners of the player of the season award from 2010 is available below.

1. Wayne Rooney (2010) –

Wayne Rooney is one of the best players of his generation. He has scored the highest amount of goals for Manchester United and England national team. Rooney played the majority of his career for Manchester United where he won 16 trophies in the process. The Englishman is the winner of the 2010 edition of the player of the season. He also won the award earlier in 2006. Throughout his spell at Manchester United, he only won the Player of the Season award twice. Wayne Rooney currently plays for Derby County in the EFL Championship.

2. Javier Hernandez (2011) –

In his days featuring for Manchester United, he was a prolific striker. His minutes per goal ratio is among the best in the English Premier League. Chicharito is Mexico’s all-time highest goalscorer. The Mexican forward won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award in 2011 a year after joining the Red Devils. He currently plays for LA Galaxy in the United States.

3. Antonio Valencia (2012) –

Antonio Valencia captained Manchester United before his departure in 2019. He played the majority of his career for Manchester United primarily as a right back. The Ecuador defender won the Manchester United Player of the Season award in 2012 for his first and only time.

4. Robin Van Persie (2013) –

Robin Van Persie is among the best strikers of his generation. He is the all-time highest goalscorer of the Netherlands national team. The retired forward had a successful brief spell at Manchester United. Van Persie won the English Premier League title in his first season at Manchester United. In his debut season, he won the player of the year award.

5. David De Gea (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018) –

David De Gea is among the most valuable goalkeepers in England. He is the first player to win the seasonal award for three consecutive seasons. De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers currently in the world. The Spaniard holds the record for most wins of the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.

6. Ander Herrera (2017) –

From 2014 to 2019, he played for Manchester United. He won four trophies with the English club. The Spaniard currently plays for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint German. Herrera is the 2017 winner of the player of the season award.

7. Luke Shaw (2019) –

Luke Shaw is a young defender who primarily plays as a left-back. In the 2018/19 campaign, he played at his best. He won the player of the month on three occasions. Shaw is the 2019 winner of the player of the season award.

8. Bruno Fernandes (2020) –

Manchester United signed Bruno Fernandes in January. He has speedily adapted to the playing style of the English Premier League. The Portuguese is their spot-kicks converter. Fernandes is the latest winner of the player of the season award.
