Mesut Ozil Offers Arsenal A New Financial Plan

Arsenal outcast, Mesut Ozil has offered Arsenal a new financial plan that would help ameliorate any transfer stress amid the January transfer window.

Following his expulsion from Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads this season, the German midfielder has reportedly completed his move to Fenerbahce on a three-year deal with Turkish side, Fenerbahce.

While the north London side are in talks with the 32-year-old over his exit, there are still 25 weeks of his £350,000-a-week wages to be paid which totals £8.75million.

According to The Sun, the midfielder is willing to let Arsenal spread out the payment of his remaining contract weeks over the next three years.

This would see the Gunners bring down the weekly payments of the 32-year-old, paying £68,000 per week until the summer of 2021.

While the payments would last longer, Mikel Arteta would see the wage packet reduce by £1.2million per month at the club.

The report also states that due to the effect of the dreaded Covid-19 on the club’s finances, the north London side would find a long-term payment scheme more appealing.
