Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly decided to not pursue another loan for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
Ceballos, 23, was a loan signing last summer by previous boss Unai Emery and despite getting into the plans of new boss Mikel Arteta, the Spanish boss will reportedly cut ties with the player this summer.
Arsenal have no plans to permanently sign or re-loan the Spaniard, according to El Confidencial.
Ceballos is understood to want to fight for his future at the Bernabeu, instead of securing a move away.
Discussing the situation recently in an interview with El Chiringuito, the Ceballos said:
“I finish my contract on June 30. I would have to play for Arsenal, I don’t know how [it would work].
“The relationship of the future would be irresponsible for me to speak about.
“The most important thing will be to be important for my new team. I came to Arsenal to be important and in less than a month it has disappeared [because of coronavirus].”
Ceballos has made 27 appearances for the Gunners since his move, scoring just a single goal.
“We haven’t had any discussions about it [a permanent deal],” the Gunners boss told a press conference in March.
“I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now.
“It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past. He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.”
