Poland U20 World Cup: Nigeria advance to knockout stage despite finishing third.

Flying Eagles of Nigeria advance to knock-

out stage in the FIFA U20 world cup despite

finishing third in the group.

FIFA confirms this after securing 4 points in

the group stage with a huge goal difference.

Ukraine and Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw at

a chilly Bielsko-Biala Stadium on Thursday to

close out Group D

Nigeria defense was frustrated by the

Ukrainians who are already guranteed a spot

in the knock out stages.

But they took an early lead through a goal

from Danylo Sikan who headed home from

close range in the 30th minute to give

Ukraine a 1-0 lead.

Flying eagles were denied a goal from a

penalty kick by the goal keeper, but another

penalty opportunity sees Tijani playing a shot

past the goal keeper to earn Nigeria the goal

needed.

Some fans however expressed their

dissatisfaction over the performance of the

flying eagles, calling them the worst team

ever after qualifying as the best looser.

Flying Eagles are yet to know the team to

face, but they need to improve their

performance if they are to qualify to the next

round.
