The Euro 2020 will return after being postponed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Slated for June 11 till July 11 in eleven different European venues (Check the home page for the profiling of the stadiums), the 2021 date for the competition has come too early and also too late for some of the biggest football stars for the competitions.
While some will miss the competition inevitably because their home co3u nties failed to qualify for the competitions while some others have been rocked by injuries.
Some unfortunate few are fit and their countries have qualified but their coaches do not trust them and have been dropped from the 26-man roaster.
Star Players Who Will Miss Euro 2020
Due to covid-19 situations and the huge number of games played by players since the return of football last year has made UEFA increase the number of players allowed in the final man squad to 26.
However, we take a look those who will couldn’t be accommodated even with the increase in the number as well as those who have been ruled out by fitness and not to forget those whose countries are absent all together.
Erling Halaand & Martin Odeegard (Norwegian)Halaand and Odegaard didn’t offend anybody, Norway wasn’t just good enough for Euro qualification after losing to Serbia in the Playoffs after extra time.

The hottest youngster and one of the best young player in world Football will miss the Euros. Robert Lewandowski will be glad he won’t have to compete with Borrusia Dortmund’s striker for the highest goal scorer gong.
Martin Odeegard is one for the future at Real Madrid and having posted decent performances during his loan spell at the Emirates Stadium, it would have been lovely to see how mature the midfielder has become since his transfer to Real Madrid as a teenager.
However, the Norwegian national team has a potentially interesting future with this duo being the core of the team and with Halaand scoring 11 goals in his first FIFA World Cup competition at the U20 in 2018, football fans will miss the goal scoring machine.
Marc Andre Ter-Stegen
Barcelona goalkeeper and Germany’s second choice in between the sticks has been ruled out after opting for a knee surgery after Barcelona dropped from the La Liga title race last weekend having lost 2-1 to Celta Vigo.
The goalkeeper wants to have the surgery and regain full fitness before the start of the new season and missing the Euros is a sacrifice he is ready to make.
To be sincere, not many will miss him with Manuel Neuer present in between the sticks for Germany.

Definitely the Euros have come to early to be a part of the Oranjes team to the tourney. Liverpool missed him, u believe the Netherlands will miss him as well, and will it cost the 2018 Nations League finalists, we will have to wait to see.
Initially, retirement from international football would have ruled Zlatan out of the competition but after posting impressive performances on his return AC Milan in December 2019.
His form has seen him score 25 goals in 37 games for the Milan team which earned him a recall out of retirement into the Swedish national team.
15 March 2021, Sweden national coach Andersson included Ibrahimović in the Sweden squad for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Georgia, almost five years after his initial retirement.
However, after sustaining an injury in a game for Milan Ibrahimovic will now miss the Euros after Andersson confirmed that Ibrahimović would not be included in the squad due to the knee injury.

The French national team released its squad list for the Euro championship and one of the prominent absentees is the Manchester United forward who has not had a great season.
However, France boss Didier Deschamps explained that the omission is because of his injury situation as he hasn’t played for Manchester United since March.
“Anthony Martial would have been here, but he is not available. His condition does not allow it.” he said.
While he may return to playing for the UEFA Europa League final against Villarreal in Gdansk on May 27.
However, Karim Benzema made a return to the national team after close to 5 years out of the Les Blues.
If you are fan of the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, you may just have to skip the UEFA Euros Championship or watch clips from during the season because Slovenia failed to qualify for Euro 2020.
To put things in proper perspective, Slovenia has played only one Euro championship in their history, which is the Euro 2000.
Another star player who has missed the Euro because his team isn’t good enough to secure Qualification for the tournament.
Pjanic who plays for Barcelona will have to wait along with his national teammates for the country’s first ever Euros championship, maybe the 2024 edition will be their first.
The former Manchester United missed out on the Belgian squad released by Roberto Martinez while their is not an explicit explanation for the omission, it is believed that playing in China has not helped his chances with the team.
