Ten Most Expensive Transfer Signings That Occurred This Summer.

The Transfer window was closed down yesterday and some transfer was made on the deadline day which was also yesterday. Throughout the whole transfer window, some clubs were very busy recruiting players who could add creativity and experience to their squad ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
This is a review of the top ten transfer which went on this summer, the subsequent player switch clubs during the transfer window for the highest amounts.

1. Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen – Chelsea) – €80 million.

Kai Havertz is the Blues second most expensive signing behind goalkeeper Kepa Arizzabalaga. His signing is the most expensive in this year’s summer transfer window. The German and former Bayer Leverkusen attacker has started impressing in his new club, he scored in his goal and first career hat trick in a league cup win over Barnsley.

2. Arthur Melo (Barcelona – Juventus) – €72 million.

Arthur Melo’s transfer to Juventus is the second most expensive transfer that occurred this summer. This deal was organized with a swap for Miralem Pjanic. The Brazilian midfielder has made his debut for the Italian club but he is yet to register his name on the scoreboard in any match. Arthur is known as a player with vison who is always looking for spaces to pass the ball. He is also gifted with excellent ball-control, he is difficult to dispossess when on the ball because he often utilises his dribbling skills to great effect.

3. Victor Osimhen (Lille – Napoli) – €70 million.

The transfer of Victor Osimhen from Lille to Napoli made him the most expensive Nigerian and African signing till date. He earned himself the move after he rose to stardom due to his fearless and goal scoring ability. Osimhen is known for his finishing skills and composure, the Nigerian star is widely regarded as one of the most promising and most in-demand African footballers. Due to his excellence, he has been tipped to win the African Player Of the year in the coming years.

4. Ruben Dias (Benfica – Manchester City) – €64 million.

Ruben Dias is one of the best defenders in the world and the Portuguese switched to Manchester City from Benfica after just three years since he signed his professional contract with them. The Benfica academy graduate has made his debut for the Citizens last weekend in a match with Leeds United which ended up a draw.

5. Miralem Pjanic (Juventus – Barcelona) – €60 million.

Miralem Pjanic transfer is meant to be joint with that of Arthur Melo because the both teams were involved in a swap but because the transfer fees for both were revealed that’s why it’s separated. While at Juventus, Pjanic established himself as a world class midfielder which everyone will always want to have in a team. Despite his old age Barcelona signed him because he is one of the worlds best freekick taker and also he is a player of good potentials. He made his debut for the Spanish club after coming on from the bench in a victory over Villarreal last week.

6. Ben Chilwell (Leicester City – Chelsea) – €50 million.

Ben Chilwell was Chelsea’s boss Frank Lampard first choice left back ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. The transfer is most expensive domestic transfer of this summer. The Skillful left back made his league debut last weekend registering his name on the scoreboard twice, one goal and an assist. It was also his 100th Premier League appearance.

7. Nathan Ake (Bournemouth – Manchester City) – €45 million.

Nathan Ake is a former Chelsea player and academy graduate, his transfer from Bournemouth his former club to Manchester City his current club was noted by Sportyleagues to be the second most expensive transfer that occurred within England. The Netherlands defender scored his first goal for the Citizens on his second outing for them which was last week where they were defeated by Leicester City with 5-2 on the scoreboard.

8. Leroy Sane (Manchester City – Bayern Munich) – €45 million.

Leroy Sane had been watched and wanted by the German giants for a while but they couldn’t complete the transfer last summer due to injury of the player. After recovering from injury he refused to extend his contract with the Citizens which is what lead to the transfer completion for him to fill the void left by Franck Ribery. Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich is the most expensive signing of the summer. The German winger scored his first goal for the club on his Bundesliga debut on the opening weekend, Bayern demolished his former club Schalke 04 8-0.

9. Diogo Jota (Wolverhampton Wanderers – Liverpool) – €44 million.

Diogo Jota’s move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Liverpool is third most expensive transfer that occurred within England. The Portuguese forward didn’t waste much time before he has started proofing himself. He has made two appearance for Liverpool since he made the move and he has scored his first goal for the Reds already. His first goal came on his premier league debut for the Reds against Arsenal.

10. Fabio Silva (FC Porto – Wolverhampton Wanderers) – €40 million.

The transfer fee which saw Fabio Silva move to Wolverhampton Wanderers was registered as the English club’s club record fee. He is the youngest player to make the list. The Portuguese attacker has featured for Wolves twice since he moved from FC Porto i.e one league game and one league cup game.
