If there’s any manager who deserves an opportunity at a more decent and bigger team for what he’s been able to achieve, since starting his managerial career that person is Wayne Rooney.

The former Everton and Manchester United forward names were the first to emerge as a possible successor for Benitez, given the brilliant job he’s doing at Derby County this season despite the club’s financial problems.

Derby County was hit with a 21 points deduction ahead of the new season, despite that, they didn’t let that big disadvantage get to them with Rooney in charge of the team and interestingly they’ve done well enough to garner 14 points after 26 games.

Should the club board decides to appoint their former player, then they’ve got themselves a fast-rising young manager who is proving to be a good coach in the Championship with Derby County.
